'Shapes In The Clouds' by Marley Alvarez
40.5 cm x 30.5 cm
Acrylic & oil pastel on canvas
This piece is an original created across 2025, for her solo exhibition I Can't Hear You.
Shapes In The Clouds takes a structured approach to the often-soft, floating shapes in the sky. The cloud in the center is rigid, almost geometric, surrounded by a bold yellow and blue checkered border that frames it like a window to the sky. This playful juxtaposition between the organic and the structured invites contemplation on how we perceive and interpret the natural world. It's about finding order in chaos, structure in softness, and the way our minds seek patterns even in the most ephemeral of forms.
Part of the I Can't Hear You collection, this work explores themes of perception, structure, and the interplay between natural and geometric forms. Each piece in the exhibition invites viewers to see the familiar in unexpected ways.
