'Racecourse' by Marley Alvarez
50 cm x 50 cm
Acrylic on canvas
This piece is an original created across 2025, for her solo exhibition I Can't Hear You.
Perched high above the sea, Racecourse captures a view that surfers, wanderers, and lovers of the coastline all know well—that magic moment when you're parked up on the headland at Crescent Head, overlooking the break, watching the world roll by in waves. This painting embodies the peaceful contemplation that comes from watching the ocean's rhythm, where time seems to slow and the world feels perfectly balanced between land and sea. It's a tribute to those cherished coastal moments that stay with us long after we've left the shore.
Part of the I Can't Hear You collection, this work explores themes of connection to place, the meditative quality of ocean watching, and the profound beauty found in Australia's coastal landscapes. Each piece in the exhibition invites viewers to pause and reconnect with the natural world.
